Canning Tangerines

At my office we often have guys coming around selling produce and peanuts (its a Florida thing) from the back of their pickups. There are two guys that come by regularly to sell whatever produce is in season and boiled peanuts. Last Thursday one of the men was selling tangerines and strawberries. I bought a big bag of tangerines off the man to can.

We spent two days peeling and segmenting the tangerines. Our hands were orange, but they smelled good. Hannah even helped. She was quite good at peeling the oranges.

Finally we had a large bowl of segmented oranges. We then canned them in a light syrup using a website off pickyourown.org.

(this picture is only about half of the oranges peeled)
AND...... this is out final product. 18 pints of beautiful organic tangerines to enjoy over the next year.
This is a video of Hannah peeling the oranges. She was very vocal until I turned the camera on. But, i was able to get a little bit. Enjoy!
