An update on Sally

Hello Everyone,

I wanted to post a quick update on how I (Sally) am doing.

This month has been full on multiple medical conditions for me.

1) I am for the most part completely healed and back to normal from the c-section. My stitches were removed on Monday and most of my mobility is back. I am still getting used to being able to sit however i want and touch my feet. It was worth all the pain and frustration to have Titus here.

2) My stint was removed today (Wednesday) with no problems. Other that some minor discomfort for the next few days, hopefully this condition is completely behind us. I have a follow up appointment in 8 weeks to make sure no pain or problems have come back.

3) As most of you know by now, I lost all motor skill in my face last week. After visiting a neurologist on Tuesday, they believe is it Guillain Barre syndrome. It is when antibodies attack the sheath around the nerves instead of going after the virus (in this case the flu I had a couple weeks ago). Normally guillain barre starts at the feet and slowly works its way up the body. For some reason my condition only attacked my facial muscles starting with the lower lip and slowly working its way up.

The neurologist has started me on a series of steroids that could help reduce the inflammation around the nerves. They have also scheduled me for a nerve stimulation test (Monday) and an MRI (tbd). Blood samples were also collected on Tuesday for analysis. Hopefully we will have some more answers from all of the tests.

I hope this helps update everyone. Please feel free to call us and say hello. Although I can't talk well, I do answer my phone. If I don't, I will try and call you back when I am less busy.

Week 2

Titus is 10 days old today. He wore a super cute outfit that Aaron picked out of the closet.

He took a nice long nap after our outing to the doctors (for Sally, again).

Every day after school Hannah loves to come home and see what her baby brother is doing. Yesterday she sat down next to him and took some picture with her camera.

Last week at Little Q's (her Wednesday night bible study), Hannah made a beautiful jacket that she colored with crayons. Here she is modeling her creation. I'm assuming they learned about Joseph.

Hope you enjoyed.

Random photos from the week

Below are a bunch of random photos from the last week. Enjoy!!

Titus minutes old in the hospital
Still in the hospital but a day or so old.

Hannah on Friday hanging out on her bean bag

Titus's first bath at home. He does not like to be cold or without clothes.

Grandpa Rex napping with Titus on Friday.

Sun bathing

To help lower the bilirubin count, Titus sunbathes twice a day for an hour each. He absolutely loves this time and stretches out and relaxes the whole time. Here are a few photos from your sun bathing time Friday afternoon.

Thursday's pics and video

On Thursday we were able to get some more picture and video of Titus. He had a nice hour and a half time of him awake with his eyes open.

Titus's first photos

While at the hospital we had photos of Titus taken. They turned out really well.

Go www.our365.com
at the bottom of the screen you can do a search by Family

Type in his birthday (Sept 20th), Sally's last name (McQ is all that's necessary), family City (Lake City), and the state (FL)

It will show a list of matching files (mine is the only one, under Sally M.)

Click on "view more details" to see all the photos.

Enjoy
