Titus is walking

Titus has been slowly walking more and more around the house. I was finally able to get some footage of it for the blog. Enjoy. As he improves, I'll try and get more videos.

Happy Birthday Titus

On Monday Titus got his first piece of birthday cake. I think he enjoyed it almost as much as Hannah did. Here are a few videos we were able to get during the party.

This was the birthday cake. I made a dinosaur train cake (because it was Hannah's favorite show that weekend). I do know that the decorating is not the best but it turned out pretty well. It was decorated in ~5 minutes.

For those of you who need help deciphering my interpretation of the dinosaur train, the first dinosaur is a tyrannosaurus Rex. The second dinosaur (the yellow triangles thing) in the second train cart is a pterodactyl.

Hannah was very excited about singing "Happy Birthday" to Titus. She kept asking us where his birthday hat was.

And then.....

Titus got his first bite of cake.

He had a great time eating the cake and the icing. He was VERY happy and excited for about 30 minutes afterwards until the the sugar high crash. All in all it was a great 1st birthday.

Titus is crawling... sort of

Titus is mobile and he loves it. Here is a video of his pseudo crawl. Enjoy!

Titus is also at the wonderful time in his life when he loves to smile for the camera. Every time he sees it we get this beautiful smile with a laugh and a squeal.

Videos of Hannah

Hannah truly makes us laugh every day. Here are two great videos of her that I was able to catch this week.

1. Hannah got a stick pony/unicorn at the dollar store and has had hours of fun ridding it around the house. Whenever you push the button Hannah always prances with the horse in a circle and then shakes him when he whinnies.

2. Hannah and I go to the library every Saturday morning to exchange movies and pick out a book or two. This week Hannah wanted this book on octopus. We read it to her Saturday night. Sunday morning Hannah followed Job around the house trying to read him the book. She was finally able to sit down with him and read.

The very talented McQuaid Children

Here are a couple great videos of Hannah and Titus playing the piano and singing. Enjoy!!

Being Productive

Aaron and I have accomplished many goals this month. Below are links to view a few of those. Enjoy!!

Making a batch of beer

Making sausage

Making dresses for Hannah

Little Red Riding Hannah

Hannah loves her red cape. Lately her favorite thing to do is put it on and run circles around the house while singing. Instead of singing "do do do do" Hannah sings "dot dot dot dot dat". Here is a great video of her singing in her cape for me. I haven't been able yet to get her running around the house singing.

He's Getting SOOOOOO Big

Here are some recent photos of Titus. I can't believe he is already 8 months old. In this picture he ate pancakes with us and then enjoyed learning to drink from a bottle by himself.
In this picture Titus and wiggled and rolled his way over to the laundry basket. He was enjoying playing with it. Later Hannah came over to play with him and the basket.

Hannah's choir concert

On Sunday Hannah had her first choir concert at chruch. She did a wonderful job. She was also the entertainment of the evening on stage. Before the singing, the pastor got on stage to pray. Hannah decided that was the best time to affectionately kiss the boy and girl on either side of her on teh cheek. Unfortunately we did not get this on video because it was histerical to watch.

During this video they are singing their warm-up song. You can really tell Hannah loves this song. She is near the middle on the rightish side. She is wearing a white shirt and a cream and tan stripped skirt.

The second song they sang was "If you're happy and you know it." Watch Hannah. She lifts her skirt up over her head a couple times. She did it a few more times inbetween songs which is not on video.

The third song was "The Lord's Army." This is one of Hannah's favorites. She now sings this sone with me at home all the time.

Hannah picking flowers

While Grandma Cindy was visiting, she took Hannah out to pick some flowers in our yard. She was able to capture some beautiful shots of Hannah outside. Enjoy

Thanks Mom for the great photos!

Family Photo

Aaron and I wanted to get a new family photo. It took a couple tries, but we finally got a good one. The first two are what not-to-do photos.

1. Do not let Hannah do whatever she wants. Otherwise you get this...

2. Do NOT take the pacifier away from Titus (or probably any other baby) while they are happy with one. Otherwise you get this....
We finally got a good photo. Hannah did not want to take a photo (all she wanted was more candy) and Aaron couldn't smile because of his recent surgery. But it turned out really good. Enjoy.

Hats are SO much fun

While Grammy and PopPop were in town for Easter, Grammy brought a few hats to play with. Hannah loved trying them on and wearing them around the house. Here are a few photos.

Titus the Easter Bunny

We got these great shots of Titus Sunday night. i LOVE the one of him smiling.

P.S. Does anyone else see a little bit of Eli in the last photo?

Whats in your Egg???

While Hannah was going through her Easter basket, she would hold each egg up in the air, shake it, and then tell me what was inside just by the sounds (candy and pennies). She was especially excited about the pennies and I was able to get some video.

When she runs off screen at the end she is running to her piggy bank that is in her room. Every time we opened a egg with candy, we excitedly ran into our room, deposited the money into the piggy bank, and then shook the bank while exclaiming "PENNIES!!! LOOK MOM, PENNIES!!!"

Hannah's new hair accessories

Hannah got some new hair accessories from the Easter bunny. We immediately needed to put all of them in our hair. Here are some pics. Please note, Hannah put all of the barrettes in by herself.

Hannah can dress herself

The other day Hannah wanted to pick out her own outfit and put it on all by herself. This is what she came up with. She was quiet proud of her ensemble.

Titus Loves Hannah

Titus loves when Hannah plays with him. He always laughs when he dances and jumps in front of him. I tried to get some video. I got a little so you can get the idea but it is usually 10 times better. Sorry the video is sideways. I haven't found a way to correct it yet.

Enjoy!!

Titus is 6 months old

Last Saturday, Titus turned 6 months old. At his 6 month appointment he was 19 lbs 4 oz and 27 inches long. Here are a few recent pictures of him. Enjoy!!

I LOVE this photo of him smiling. I also love how his hair is coming in so nice and dark (yeah for a brunette).
Titus loves his Jumpin' Johnny. He likes to be able to stand on his own.

Canning Tangerines

At my office we often have guys coming around selling produce and peanuts (its a Florida thing) from the back of their pickups. There are two guys that come by regularly to sell whatever produce is in season and boiled peanuts. Last Thursday one of the men was selling tangerines and strawberries. I bought a big bag of tangerines off the man to can.

We spent two days peeling and segmenting the tangerines. Our hands were orange, but they smelled good. Hannah even helped. She was quite good at peeling the oranges.

Finally we had a large bowl of segmented oranges. We then canned them in a light syrup using a website off pickyourown.org.

(this picture is only about half of the oranges peeled)
AND...... this is out final product. 18 pints of beautiful organic tangerines to enjoy over the next year.
This is a video of Hannah peeling the oranges. She was very vocal until I turned the camera on. But, i was able to get a little bit. Enjoy!

Hannah Loves Her Jesus Book

Hannah got a bible from her Wednesday night church class. She loves this bible and she calls it her "Jesus book." It has ~20 short stories from the bible that are written really well for kids to understand. Each story also has a picture that flips to reveal the progression of the story (i.e. a picture of a big fish, pull down tab, Jonah is in the mouth).
Every night Hannah asked to read her Jesus book. Aaron and I will read her a couple stories from the book as her bedtime story. Then Hannah carries the book into bed with her and will lay in bed and read for 2-5 minutes, until we come and turn off the light.

I love that Hannah loves reading and Jesus. She remembers the stories of each picture and will talk about them while laying in bed. Hopefully these passions will stay with her always.

Orlando Science Center

Last weekend, we spent a couple days in Orlando. I had a conference and we decided to go a day early to get in a family mini-vacation. We went to the Orlando Science Center and had a great time. I was only able to get a few videos and pictures before my camera battery died. Here they are.

Hannah riding the frog prince. ( Hannah was terrified of all the small frogs and this was the only thing that semi interested her in the exhibit) Hannah being cooked in a cauldron by Daddy????? Daddy, no boiling Hannah. Bad Daddy.

Hannah flying an airplane

Hannah loves dinosaurs. So, we assumed Hannah would love the dinosaur exhibit. Right??? Wrong. She was terrified. I don't think she ever realized how big they were. But, we were able to get a picture of Hannah and Aaron in a dinosaur nest. In this photo, Hannah is not smiling while staring at a 20 foot tall t-rex just out of the picture.

Hannah not phased by an earthquake.
