Hannah loves her letters

Hannah has learned all of her letters and is able to recognize them outside of their sequence. She loves pointing them out to use wherever we go. Below is a video of Hannah doing a puzzle (another love of hers) with me (Mom). While doing the puzzle she broke out into this funny-scary voice that i had to get on video. Hope you all enjoy.

4 weeks old- pics and video

Here are just a few of the adorable faces of Titus. Enjoy!

One night before bed, Aaron and I read Hannah the story "Little Quack's Hide and Seek." It is about a duckling named Little Quack that plays hide and seek with his mother and four brothers and sisters. Little Quack hides behind his mother so she cannot find him. There are many pages of Mother duck looking all over the pond asking if little Quack is hiding in a spot. The following line is always "No, Little Quack isn't in the (fill in blank)." The next day Hannah picked up the book and read it for ~30 minutes. I was able to get a quick video of the reading.

The second video is Titus's many faces. Once he is full and going asleep, he makes tons of faces. I was trying to catch a smile and didn't get one. But i got a half smile and a ton of his adorable faces. Enjoy

One of my new favorite photos of Hannah. This is Hannah posing with her twig of berries her and Pap Pap picked on their walk.

Cooking With Grammy McQuaid

While Grammy and Pap Pap were down here, Grammy baked an apple pie with Hannah. Hannah had a great time pealing the apples with Daddy.
Sometimes it took two hands to turn the apple.

We loved the end result of the spiral apple.Later in the week Hannah helped Grammy make snicker cookies. She helped pour all the ingrediants into the mixing bowl and turned the mixer on. Her favorite part was eating the cookies (and the snickers and the dough).

Everything is Okey Dokey at the Okefenokee

While Dave and Ruth were down her, Dave and Aaron spent a day at the Okefenokee Wildlife Refuge. The Okefenokee is a swamp in Georgia, just north of the Florida-Georgia State line. They rented a canoe and spent ~3 hours paddling around.

A lily pad
Sometimes the canoeing path got very narrowThe peat collected so thick that trees would grow on it. If you were to get out and try and walk on it, the "ground" moves. That is why the indians named the area the okefenokee (which means trembling ground)The canoeing pathA 5-6 foot aligator that crossed their path

St. Augustine Beach

On Friday, we took Grammy and Pap Pap McQuaid to the beach. We went to St Augustine and visited the Anastasia State Park. We had perfect weather and the beach nearly empty. We shared a 1/4 mile stretch with ~50 people. We set up out tent and chairs around 11 am and stayed till 4 pm. Below are a few pictures and video from the day.

We had to stop Grammy and Hannah from running to the water too quickly to put sunblock on.

Titus enjoying his first day at the beach. Grammy and Hannah were the first ones in the water. They were both excited for their first time in the Atlantic Ocean.

The water temperature was perfect and Hannah spent most of the day in the water with whoever would swim with her.

Titus was able to get a few good naps in the shade

At the end of the day everyone was tired from all of the sun and fun

Here is a great video of Hannah enjoying the water. She loved the waves and was fearless in the water.

(Make sure you have your sound on for the video. Her squeals are priceless)

Computer Time with Hannah

Hannah has been learning how to use a computer at school. From what the teachers have told us, Hannah loves computer time.

Aaron and I thought this would be a good time to pull out Hannah Click Start Computer for her to try. It was a huge hit. All Hannah wants to do when she gets home is play her computer (movies, even VHSs have been put aside). Hannah is really good on it. Her hand eye coordination with the mouse is amazing.

Her favorite game so far is "abc time." You can click any number or letter on the keyboard and it shows up on the screen with a picture of something starting with that letter. She also loves all the Disney Princess games and the Backyardigans games (thanks Uncle Jesse and Aunt Alica).

Here are a few pictures of Hannah playing with her computer. There is also a video. Sorry it is sideways. I can't seem to turn it.

Friday, Oct 2nd

Today Titus had his two week check up. (Technically it was his one week and 5 day check up)

In one week, Titus has gained 15 oz and grown 1 inch. He is now 9 lbs and 21 1/1 inches long.

This evening after a full day of school, Hannah and Dad sat down to watch a movie before bed. Hannah was a very good mommy and fed her baby doll for ~10 minutes. Afterwards Daddy burped her baby. She later tried to feed Titus from the same bottle, which wasn't as successful.

After all the feedings were over, Hannah went over and held Titus's hand while he slept in the swing. She is very attentive to his sleeping schedule. She make sure every time he is sleeping in the swing that he has his blanket, get a good night kiss, and then holds his hand for a little bit to comfort him. She really is a great big sister.
